FAVRE JOHN AND MIKE (CHAMOSON, VALAIS, SWITZERLAND)
The Petite Arvine Chamoson is a wine that seems to have every aromatic grape thrown in, were its big sister St Pierre Grand Annee has added barrel fermentation and barrel ageing – maybe a couple of kitchen sinks thrown in as well – giving it a rich complex velvety structure. Fendant is a classic bright dry wine for cheese and Johanisberg is a weighty white. The two reds, Oriou Curare is full of crunchy herby black currents and the Pinot Noir Chamoson is classic dry strawberries with a twist.
